This is an issue that one of our most recent clients were experiencing when trying to monitor the energy used to power their on-site office units on a busy construction site who were using traditional meters which required a shut-down of site power for several hours to be safely installed or removed.
El-Björn were contacted to help simplify the metering process and provide a user-friendly way of viewing the metering data. We were able to easily meet our customers needs using a combination of our online monitoring platform, El-Björn CONNECT, and one of our CONNECT- Energy Meter.
The El-Björn CONNECT – Energy Meter, offers a turnkey solution, using flexible Rogowski CT’s that are secured around the incoming supply cabling you want to monitor. This easy-to-use system removes the need to power down units and takes less than 20 minutes to set-up. The CONNECT – Energy Meter wirelessly communicates live data directly with our CONNECT – Gateway units using LoRaWAN. This system provides a secure, long-range signal allowing meters to be deployed deep into basements where mobile phone service isn’t possible.
The CONNECT – Gateway unit sends the live data to the El-Björn CONNECT online portal utilising mobile phone networks. A single Gateway unit is able to connect up to 250 devices and has an integrated UPS (uninterruptable power supply) allowing the unit to continue sending notifications in the event of a complete site power loss.

• Short term use to determine site loads when considering removal of TBS supplies.
